George MacDonald on Righteousness

C.S. Lewis was greatly influenced by George MacDonald. Lewis wrote that “I know hardly any other writer who seems to be closer, or more continually close, to the Spirit of Christ Himself.” As a child, I first knew MacDonald’s works through his children’s stories such as At the Back of the North Wind and Curdie and the Princess. Later, as a Christian, I became aware of his theological writing. The quotation below is from Rolland Hein’s edited selections from MacDonald’s Unspoken Sermons.
